Leicester Dodgeball club are one of the UK’s oldest dodgeball clubs having been established since 2009. Known as the Leicester Minotaurs, the team shed its bad guy image with a rebrand in 2020 to the family friendly Tox and Leicester city colour scheme.
Minotaurs Women's Team played in the English Womens Super League for the 2017-2018 season, having been formed from a number of experienced female players based in the East Midlands who were looking for a new challenge and who were welcomed by the Minotaurs club as their first full strength Womens side.
A strong start to the season saw them reach the semi-finals at The New Season Open and they won the Bristol Open of that year. The change from UKDBA to British Dodgeball lent to a space being available in the newly formed Womens Super League which the team accepted. Unfortunately, the pressures of competing in a very competitive league came too soon leading to the team finishing the season in the relegation places and ultimately disbanding.
This shirt is a match worn example worn by #31 Kathryn Thomas. Thomas a well established player in the British dodgeball community now plays for Nottingham Sheriffs and is also a Welsh international coach. You may have also heard her on the Neutral Zone podcast where they discuss all things dodgeball!
